Armstrong Teams Up with TBS’ Movie & a Makeover for a Doggone Good Cause
Humane Society Renovation Features Metallaire Suspended Ceiling During the dog days of summer, Armstrong teamed up with TBS’ Movie and a Makeover to provide a special treat for the animal lovers at The Humane Society of Atlanta. Movie & a Makeover design expert Brian Patrick Flynn re-designed the Humane Society’s downtown Atlanta headquarters from top to bottom, including
a new Armstrong Metallaire ceiling.
The renovated space, a pet supply shop inside the Humane Society, was revealed on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, during the network’s
showing of Cheaper by the Dozen. To complete his design, Flynn and his team installed 2’x2’ suspended ceiling panels in Painted White and Medium Panels pattern,
then painted them fire engine red—the official color of The Humane Society and the perfect complement to the shop’s bold new
color palette. The makeover also incorporated an improved display system for the Humane Society’s products, a space for patrons
to have their photo taken with their new pet, custom lawn wallpaper and dog-friendly floors.

Armstrong’s WoodHaven Adds Classic Touch to Mid-Century Modern Kitchen on TBS’ Movie & A Makeover
Armstrong’s WoodHaven laminate ceiling planks took center stage on a recent episode of TBS’ Movie & a Makeover. The mid-century modern kitchen makeover was revealed during the network’s showing of the movie Sister Act on Saturday, May 23, 2009.
Armstrong provided WoodHaven planks in Classic White to enhance the architectural interest of a kitchen space in desperate
need of updating. Movie & a Makeover design experts Tonya M. Williams and Brian Patrick Flynn chose mid-century modern elements for the lighting, furniture and
wall covering, but wanted to mix in classic architectural details as well, specifically on the fifth wall. Williams and Flynn
requested WoodHaven for this particular ceiling treatment because they felt that the product’s clean lines juxtaposed well
with just about any style. Their choice of a Classic White finish was a matter of both aesthetics and function since the soft
color of the planks helped reflect light around what once was a dark space.
